Wild About Books: Gods In Alabama

Gods_Thumbnail.png

Some books just stay with you. Some characters you still hear inside of your head. Others pop up at different times in your life. Gods_In_AlabamaDoes that happen to you? Maybe it's just me. I've tried to log all the books I've read but, alas, I've been reading since before Good Reads and Kindle. What can I say? This week, I want to tell you about Arlene. I hear her with a beautiful southern accent. Probably the way her maker, Joshilyn Jackson, sounds. Have you ever heard of Gods In Alabama? Ever read it? I think I read it in 2005. LAWD! I am not doing the maths on that one.

Releated Post: 32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny

It's hard talking about old books! I'm trying not to give up the entire story! Here's the opening line:

There are gods in Alabama: Jack Daniel's, high school quarterbacks, trucks, big tits, and also Jesus. I left one back there myself, back in Possett. I kicked it under the kudzu and left it to the roaches.
