What's a "mami"?

Mami (n): /mah-mee/ 1. A person's mother. 2. A sexy, good looking girl. Most often used for girls of Hispanic descent. 3. An extremely attractive female.

Hi, I'm Sili and this is my blog. I'm a "Mami" in every definition of the word. I started blogging because I talk too much and it was easier to share my stories with everyone in one place. And then, as you can see here, I fell in love with it.

What inspires me to write?

Many different things: family, grief, technology, books, activism and on and on and on.  You'll get all of me, even the sometimes random rants and inner chatter.

Goals?  Yup...we got those.

When I write here on My Mamihood, I want to share stories that you can connect with.  I'm gonna make you laugh, cry, and give you a new perspective. Some days you'll see we're on the same page and you might feel like this is your story I'm sharing.  Some days, it might be something completely out in left field, but I hope you'll stick around to see my side of things and share your own perspective.  Got something to say?  Join me in the comments!

It's about community.

My Mamihood isn't just my space...it's a community.  I have some great friends who'll stop by from time to time and share their views.  They'll make you (and I) think about things we might not have otherwise.  Most of them are "mamis" too (see definition above).  So please show them some love!

A bigger purpose...

I can tell you all day about who thinks I'm awesome, but the only person that really matters is my Frog Princess (and my Mami in heaven).

My voice here on the blog is influenced by them and all the inspiring people in my life who make me think, plan and take action...whether it's for my own dreams or through community activism.

Part of my purpose in life is to inspire others and to support and coach them toward their dreams. I'm deeply committed to changing the world and bringing you right along with me.

It takes a village and I believe we can help each other reach the purpose we strive for. I've been told I raise armies and build empires.  Oh and I also bake cookies and thangs.  Because us mamis get ish done!  ;)
