Living the Magic: Hidden Adventures at Walt Disney World
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All thoughts, opinions and adventuring are purely my own. Last week I told you all about the can’t miss attractions at the Magic Kingdom® Park. Well this week, I want to chat with you about some hidden adventures I have found through the parks at Walt Disney World.
I first came to Disney at age 14. When I moved to Orlando a few months later, I became the tour guide for every. Single. One. Of my relatives that suddenly got a knack for travel after our move.
Needless to say this made me salty. For a long time, I abandoned my love of the magic because I was made to play tour guide. Let this be a lesson to you guys!
I have happily regained the spark in my heart and the cool thing is that I feel like I find something new with each visit to Walt Disney World.
But, did you know that there’s much more to the parks than just the attractions? There’s an entire world you have not yet discovered!
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom: Can I just tell you how mad I am that I didn’t find out about this earlier? This has got to be one of the coolest things at the Magic Kingdom® Park. Imagine, if you will, that Hades and his Cohorts of villains are attempting to take over the kingdom. How will good win?! With the help of Merlin and his mystical map, you embark on missions throughout the Magic Kingdom® Park unlocking Magic Portals using your Sorcerer Key card, challenging the villains and ensuring victory for good!
Sili’s Tip: Keep track of which Sorcerer Key cards you’ve used. Also, if you’re traveling with a group, make sure everyone signs up even if they don’t play. This means you’ll get more cards to help you fight evil!
Star Tours® – The Adventures Continue: Who doesn’t love Star Wars (if you don’t, we should not be friends)? This adventure is a favorite of mine because it has allowed me to introduce the Frog Princess to the beloved saga at an early age. As with so many of these hidden adventures, every time we visit, we find ourselves headed to a different destination following a different storyline that leads to grand adventures and loads of fun!
Sili’s Tip: Secure a fast pass for this adventure. You can do so as early as 30 days in advance!
Wilderness Explorers: If you’re a fan of the film Up! Then you will love to follow the footsteps of Russell and Dug as they set to explore the wilderness. These self-guided activities are filled with lots of great information about nature. I love that we can collect badges as we go along and keep our information in our Wilderness Explorer field guide. I was never a Girl Scout but I can imagine this is what they feel like getting their badges.
Sili’s Tip: If you visit the parks often, have no fear, with all of the activities involved, you’ll never have the same adventure twice!
Disney Phineas and Ferb: Agent P's World Showcase Adventure: I don’t know what it is that I love so much about Phineas and Ferb. I watch them On Demand and when we go to Epcot® we get to travel the world through the eyes of Agent P as a secret agent ready to thwart Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s plans! Stop by the recruitment center near the International Gateway and pick up your F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notification Equipment). Through clues left throughout the World Showcase you can help Agent P complete the mission.
Sili’s tip: Be sure to complete the mission and you will get a very special thank you for helping save the world!
I’m glad I didn’t give up on Disney and even gladder that as an annual passholder, we find new adventures to embark on every time we visit.
Which one of these will you be visiting next?
Did you miss any parts of this series? Lucky for you, I have a list!
