#IDelight In Simple Coffee Moments
Disclosure: I'm a coffee-loving InDelight ambassador. All opinions, mushy thought and new traditions are purely my own. This past week, I had the great pleasure of heading up to D.C. for a petition delivery at the Hill. Of course, I got a chance to head up earlier since my sister lives up there. And I brought the frog princess right along.
To see her experience the Fall colors for the first time was magical. My sister and I settled quickly into a routine and I realized how new traditions are forming now that we are finally adjusting to the "new norm" of Mami being gone. Yes, it's been 3 years but it might as well have been just one.
We had a great time going to the zoo and just lounging on cold days. At the center of our chat times was ONE constant. A warm cup of coffee for us, a cup of homemade hot chocolate for the Frog Princess.
We hold all kinds of memories of mornings at the counter sipping coffee and chatting with Mami. This routine has been hard wired into us. But I took special pleasure in doing this now, as I visited my little sister in her home. I'm sad that we didn't get pictures together this time around (but here are a few of titi Q, uncle John and the Frog Princess).
As we head into the holiday season, there will be more of these days. My sister will be here next week and I can't wait to fix coffee for her and sit on the couch and chit chat as I fight for her attention with the Frog Princess. I'm already scouring for Peppermint Chocolate Truffle and Gingerbread Latte creamers. The scents and flavors of the season form the memories that we carry forth. At least I think so.
My plan is simple: continue to have sweet moments during the holidays (and any time I can be in the same space with my loved ones). And most likely they will happen around a cup of something hot and comforting. With whatever InDelight flavor suits the moment.
What flavor palate sweetens your holidays?
