  • Denene Millner Books launched as a new children’s book imprint dedicated to centering Black children, families, and everyday joy at a time when representation in children’s publishing remained limited and uneven. The imprint’s first release, Early Sunday Morning, carried both cultural and commercial significance: it needed to introduce a new imprint, establish trust with readers, and mobilize community support without the benefit of an existing institutional marketing machine.

    • Designed the digital and social scaffolding for the imprint’s early launch, ensuring that Early Sunday Morning and Denene Millner Books could travel through community networks with clarity, consistency, and cohesion

    • Consulted on and created strategy, content systems, and shareable infrastructure rather than one-off promotion 

    • Provided framing for durable content infrastructure that could be used by supporters, partners, influencers, and press without requiring centralized control

    • Positioned the work to support both the launch title and the long-term imprint identity, ensuring the systems built could extend beyond a single release

    • Built a social media launch framework that translated the imprint’s values into repeatable, community-driven participation

    • Created a comprehensive social media guide for supporters, influencers, bloggers, and press to ensure consistency without central control

    • Developed platform-specific caption banks, prompts, hashtags, and visual guidance to reduce friction for sharing

    • Early Sunday Morning Social Media Guide

  • This work demonstrates how intentional digital infrastructure can reduce reliance on centralized promotion, creating repeatable systems that allow projects to scale through community participation, clarity of message, and trust.
