A Look Back: 36 Weeks...

I realize now why some prisoners commit crimes shortly after leaving prison in hopes to be put back in (well, kinda). At 36 weeks and 1 day, I was allowed to finally leave the prison that was my bed.  Although truth be told by that stage, I didn't want to. Well, I did but I was so tired most of the time that I wanted to run and do what I had to and then jump back into the bed. This is my update to family and friends one year ago...

Week 36 Update “ Release the Hounds!

We are at 36 weeks and 1 day! Thanks to all for your continued prayers, they are greatly appreciated.

Today I was told that I can now go have "fun" and get out of the bed. Release the hounds! I can be out and about!

How awesome is that? I have been managing the insane nesting impulse from the bed and now I get to at least do some of what's on my list. In all honesty, I won't be back to my full potential and I'm still going to need plenty of rest. The Frog Princess seems to have gone on a growth spurt this past week. I've gained close to 4 pounds since last Thursday and I am feeling the extra weight. But at least I can prepare the last of the details for the birth and the homecoming!

Bed rest has given me a lot of time to think about a lot of different things. Lately though, We have been humbled by the family and friends that have given us a part of their hearts for the baby. The gifts from the showers (I still can't believe we had 5 of them!), the prayers, the genuine excitement that people feel for us, the visits, the phone calls, emails and texts. We are humbled by God's grace and by the beautiful people that He has put in our lives. We cannot wait to share all of this with the frog princess and to share her with the world. Every parent thinks their child is special but we know the paths that we have both taken that led us to her and we know that God has great things in store for her and for us through her.

The Man finished painting the room (can't remember if I gave that update), the furniture has been ordered (and hopefully it'll be here soon so that he can start putting it together ;-) and the last of the necessities are in the process of being picked up.

It is smooth sailing from this point forth. Soon will come the easy part... :-D

We are looking forward to a beautiful birth surrounded by love, peace and the blessings that God continues to bestow upon us. Continue sending those positive vibes, we love to receive them.

In love,

The Man, The Mami, The Frog Princess and Chico
